“Resourceful” is a word that many might use to describe spring 2024 graduate Donya Glenn. 

The Athens, Georgia, native who crossed the commencement stage in May after just three years to earn his bachelor’s in public health credits the various resources on campus for helping him excel as a student, even when he hit roadblocks along the way. 

Dr. Gayle Latricia Martin Jackson led a life of service to her family and community, through her passion for guiding youth, preserving history, and existing as a beacon of light for those that knew her. Jackson’s passing at the age of 72 this past August was the loss of a beloved mother, wife, mentor and professional which could not soon be forgotten, for her legacy is sure to be carried on through her work and family.

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had a grand dream and expressed that dream eloquently.

In fact, many who share in that dream will be participating in a spoken word celebration at the Emma Kelly Theater on the Thursday after Martin Luther King Day in Statesboro.
